In a shocking incident, a man from Ambattur, Chennai, allegedly attempted to run over his girlfriend with his car after she filed a complaint against him for cheating. The Chennai police have registered a case based on the complaint lodged by the woman and her brother and are actively investigating the matter.
Allegations of Deceit
The accused, identified as Bharat from Ambattur, had reportedly been in a relationship with the woman, an IT professional, since 2017. Trusting the seriousness of their relationship, the woman lent him ₹25 lakh and gave him her jewelry.
However, the situation took a turn when the woman discovered Bharat’s involvement with another woman. Suspecting further deceit, she checked his social media accounts and allegedly uncovered that Bharat had a history of misleading and exploiting wealthy women in a similar manner.
The Revenge Attempt
Furious at the woman for filing a legal complaint against him, Bharat allegedly sought revenge. On Christmas Day, he reportedly tried to run her over with his car in Koyambedu.
CCTV Evidence Submitted
The woman and her brother have since filed another complaint against Bharat, submitting CCTV footage as evidence to substantiate their allegations.
Police Investigation Underway
A case has been registered against Bharat, and the Chennai police are investigating the matter. The incident has raised concerns over rising cases of deception and retaliation in personal relationships.
The authorities have urged anyone with additional information about Bharat or similar cases to come forward to assist in the investigation.
