Yograj Singh Makes Massive U Turn on MS Dhoni, Calls Him a Fearless Man”

In a surprising change of tone, former cricketer Yograj Singh, father of Indian cricket legend Yuvraj Singh, has heaped praise on former Indian captain MS Dhoni. Yograj, who has often been vocal about his disapproval of Dhoni in the past—blaming him for hindering Yuvraj’s career—has now acknowledged Dhoni’s brilliance as a leader and player.

Yograj Lauds Dhoni’s Leadership Skills

In an interview on the YouTube show Unfiltered by Samdish, Yograj Singh highlighted Dhoni’s sharp cricketing mind and fearless attitude.
“I find Dhoni to be a very motivated captain who knows how to guide his team,” said Yograj. “The best thing about him is his ability to read the wicket and direct bowlers effectively.”

He further added, “What I liked the most about him was his fearlessness. If you remember, in Australia, he was hit on the grill by Mitchell Johnson, and he didn’t flinch. The very next ball, he pulled him for a six. There are very few people like that.”

MS Dhoni’s Legacy as a Leader

Known for his calm demeanor and tactical brilliance, MS Dhoni has been a guiding force for Indian cricket, nurturing young talent while leading the team to historic wins, including the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Yograj’s comments mark a significant departure from his earlier stance, showing newfound admiration for Dhoni’s contribution to Indian cricket.

Jonty Rhodes Defends Kohli and Rohit Amid Border-Gavaskar Criticism

In another cricketing development, former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes defended Indian stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma following India’s 1-3 loss to Australia in the 2024/25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Rhodes emphasized the challenges of playing in Australia and urged fans to temper their criticism.

“Touring Australia is really tough,” Rhodes told IANS. “Maybe Indian fans have forgotten that because of the team’s success on the last two tours. But it wasn’t easy, and laying the blame on two individuals is harsh.”

Rhodes highlighted that modern cricketers face unprecedented scrutiny due to social media and urged fans to understand the complexity of playing in challenging conditions like Australia.
