nfl draft order 2025
The following is the updated first-round draft order for the 2025 NFL Draft as we approach the conclusion of Week 17. The draft order is based on team records and strength of schedule (SOS) as the primary tiebreaker. Teams currently in playoff contention are marked with “PL” and will have their draft positions finalized after postseason results.
This list will be updated after the Monday night game between the 49ers and Lions, but Picks 1-10 will remain unaffected.
1. New England Patriots (3-13, .447 SOS)
2. Tennessee Titans (3-13, .510 SOS)
3. Cleveland Browns (3-13, .531 SOS)
4. New York Giants (3-13, .535 SOS)
5. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12, .475 SOS)
6. Carolina Panthers (4-12, .496 SOS)
7. New York Jets (4-12, .502 SOS)
8. Las Vegas Raiders (4-12, .539 SOS)
9. Chicago Bears (4-12, .546 SOS)
10. New Orleans Saints (5-11, .504 SOS)
12. Indianapolis Colts (7-9, .471 SOS)
The Colts missed playoff contention and are in the mix for a mid-first-round pick.
13. Dallas Cowboys (7-9, .508 SOS)
Dallas’s strong finish to the season moved them out of the top 10 but firmly in the middle of the draft order.
15. Miami Dolphins (8-8, .428 SOS)
The Dolphins have a low SOS, which gives them a chance to pick higher if they miss the playoffs.
PL. Philadelphia Eagles (13-3, .477 SOS)
Likely to pick near the bottom of the first round depending on their postseason run.
PL. Detroit Lions (13-2, .502 SOS)
Detroit will be one of the final teams to pick as they remain one of the NFC’s top contenders.
PL. Kansas City Chiefs (15-1, .482 SOS)
The Chiefs are in contention for the final pick in the first round as Super Bowl favorites.
This preliminary draft order will see changes after Week 18 and the playoffs, shaping up what promises to be a critical offseason for many teams.
