A tragic incident occurred in Pammal on Friday morning, where a 36-year-old air-conditioner mechanic, Naresh Kumar, lost his life due to electrocution. Naresh, a resident of Thiruvalluvar Street, leaves behind a wife and a six-month-old baby.
Naresh was alone at home as his wife and child were visiting Chengalpet. Planning to spend the day meeting friends, he decided to take a bath before heading out. While heating water with an electric heater, Naresh remained on a phone call with his friends.
After the water heated up, Naresh reportedly tested the temperature by dipping his hand into the bucket without turning off the heater. Tragically, he received an electric shock and died on the spot.
When Naresh failed to respond to repeated phone calls, his friends grew concerned. They forced open the door to find him lying unresponsive on the bathroom floor. Authorities were alerted, and police investigations into the incident are currently underway.
This unfortunate event highlights the dangers of improper use of electrical appliances. Authorities urge the public to exercise caution when handling such devices to avoid similar tragedies.
