Hudson Meek, 16-Year-Old Actor from Baby Driver, Passes Away After Tragic Accident
Hudson Meek, a 16-year-old actor known for his role as the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character in the 2017 film Baby Driver, has tragically passed away following an accident in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
On December 19, Meek sustained severe injuries after falling from a moving vehicle. He was immediately rushed to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. Despite the medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on December 21. The Jefferson County Coroner’s office confirmed the cause of death as blunt force trauma.
The circumstances of the accident are still under investigation by the Vestavia Hills Police Department.
Hudson Meek was an accomplished actor, despite his young age. In addition to Baby Driver, he lent his voice to the children’s show Badanamu Stories and appeared in popular TV series such as NBC’s Found and The CW’s Legacies. His most recent role was in the thriller The School Duel.
Meek’s family and friends described him as a reflective, thoughtful, and adventurous individual. His love for the outdoors and travel was highlighted in his obituary, which noted his passion for snow skiing, tubing, and wakeboarding.
“His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met,” a post on his official Instagram account read, paying tribute to the young actor.

Authorities in Vestavia Hills are actively investigating the details of the accident. As of now, no further information about the circumstances has been released.
