Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, who was arrested in connection with the tragic stampede at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre, was released from Chanchalguda prison after securing interim bail. The incident, which occurred on December 4, resulted in the death of a 39-year-old woman named Revathi and left her 8-year-old son hospitalized. Following a complaint, the police filed a case for negligence against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theater management.
Despite the legal hurdles, Allu Arjun received an emotional welcome upon his return home, with family members, friends, and film industry colleagues rallying around him to show their support.
Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, and sent to judicial custody. However, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail, allowing him to return home. His release was delayed due to the late receipt of bail documents. The actor’s legal team provided a surety bond of ₹50,000 to secure his release.
Upon his release, Allu Arjun addressed the media, expressing his sorrow and condolences for the tragic incident:
“There’s nothing to worry. I am doing well. I am a law-abiding citizen and will cooperate with the police. The accident was unintentional. I am deeply sorry for what happened and offer my condolences to the family of the deceased.”
As Allu Arjun arrived at his Jubilee Hills residence, he was greeted with emotional scenes.
Several prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry visited Allu Arjun to express solidarity:
Popular actor Vijay Deverakonda and his brother Anand Deverakonda visited Allu Arjun at his residence. Accompanied by Mythri Movie Makers’ producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar, the Deverakonda brothers spent time with Allu Arjun, offering their support.
On December 4, 2024, Allu Arjun visited Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad alongside Rashmika Mandanna and his wife, Sneha Reddy, for the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. The event attracted a massive crowd, leading to an unfortunate stampede.

“I want to thank my fans for their support. I am fine and will fully cooperate with the investigation. This was an unfortunate incident, and I offer my heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased.”
Despite the legal challenges, Allu Arjun has received overwhelming support:
“I can’t believe what I am seeing right now. The incident was deeply saddening. However, it’s disheartening to see everything being blamed on a single individual. This situation is both unbelievable and heartbreaking.”
While the unfortunate incident has overshadowed recent events, Pushpa 2: The Rule remains a highly anticipated film. The movie, which is nearing ₹1200 crore at the global box office, continues to dominate despite the controversy surrounding its promotions.
